Here’s a list of twenty things that bug
me, some more than others. Enjoy.
1.
It bugs me to no ends when someone has only one child but owns a minivan.
-This
mostly bugs me because I don’t see the use for it at all. Do you really drive
around with that much stuff that you need a minivan to hold it all?
2.
When people try to micromanage someone else’s life; for example, when you’re
cooking pasta and someone criticizes you for over-stirring it.
-It’s
a sign that shows the person hasn’t accepted that you are capable of doing
something on your own.
3.
When people don’t list prices for things they are trying to sell on the
Facebook pages and instead they list “message me for prices”.
-It
would honestly save everyone time if they listed the price so that I could then
message them if I was interested.
4.
When my roommate stops the microwave in the middle of it heating and than
doesn’t clear the remaining time so that the screen returns back to the clock.
-Countless
times I’ve looked at the microwave to read the time and have been misled
because it’s not really 1:23, instead there was a minute and twenty-three
seconds remaining when the microwave was stopped.
5.
When people think they are better than everyone else really bugs me especially
when they feel the needs to talk about all the extravagant vacations they go on.
-I
feel like it puts a lot of people down, the person should realize that it’s
okay to talk about some things but they should really be considerate of others.
6.
When my Dad only responds to my text messages in emojis.
-Honestly,
people can use one emoji to mean multiple things, so the conversation overall
can leave someone very confused. Example A below:
7.
Something that bugs me but doesn’t effect me directly is when people talk on their
phone as they are checking out at a store.
-I
think it’s extremely rude and disrespectful to the cashier, in my opinion you
can put your phone down for the two minutes it takes you to check out.
8.
When cling wrap doesn’t cling is something that I experience about once a week
and it’s one of the few things that can frustrate me.
-When
I don’t want it to cling it’s more than happy to stick to itself but when I’m
trying to wrap something to put it in the fridge, it decides to not cooperate.
9.
It creeps me out more so than bug me when a teacher watches you as you take a
test.
-I’m
someone that will stare off into the ceiling during a test trying to think of
an answer, so I get paranoid when the teacher is looking at me because I think
that they think that I’m cheating, it’s very uncomfortable.
10.
When people dye their hair a light color but do not dye their eyebrows a
lighter shade; more specifically, when an individual with black hair dyes their
hair blonde but still has their black eyebrows.
-Maybe
there’s a purpose behind it that I don’t know of. It bugs me because it makes
it so obvious that they dyed their hair and I would have thought they would
want it to look natural.
11.
When I’m driving on the interstate and people are following me closely in their
cars.
-It
bugs me because honestly there are three other lanes on this road, if they
don’t want to be behind me then they can pass me, no problem.
12.
Tying into the one above, people that are in a hurry when they are driving bugs
me.
-I’m
a calm driver who is pretty much never in a hurry to go anywhere, so when
someone decides that they are going to swerve in and out of lanes to get to
where they are heading is both annoying and dangerous.
13.
When people can’t park in their parking spaces right.
-It’s
not a big deal in many other cities but in Gainesville the parking spaces are
so small that when someone doesn’t park within the lines, it generally prevents
other people from parking on the sides of them. Which wouldn’t be a big deal,
except in Gainesville there are few spaces to begin with so when someone is
taking up more than one it really bugs me.
14.
When bikers don’t yield to pedestrians.
-Countless
times in Gainesville I have almost gotten run over by someone on a bike that’s
been on the road. While a bike is on the road they are suppose to yield to the
people walking but many don’t.
15.
In honor of the American idol auditions, it bugs me when a contestant tells a
sad story or brings their young child into the audition room with them.
-It
bugs me because generally they are doing it to gain sympathy in order to get
voted through, when in reality they should only get voted through because of
their voice.
16.
When people stop in the middle of a walkway to talk to someone.
-It’s
okay to stop and talk to someone but if you’re walking and suddenly stop, it’s
annoying to everyone that now has to walk around you. This mostly bugs me
because when people are forced to go around someone the flow of foot traffic
decreases and then it takes longer to get somewhere.
17.
When you go to the store and only three cash registers are open for fifty
people to check out of.
-I
don’t mind if it happens at a clothing store but it really bugs me at grocery
stores because I normally have frozen or refrigerated items that by the time
I’ve made it to the car have defrosted or at least have started to.
18.
When people don’t use their traffic signal to show that they are about to turn,
mostly into where you are leaving.
-This
bugs me because if the person had used their signal than I would have been able
to pull out instead of having to wait until there is another break in traffic.
19.
When people pass me when I’m approaching a red or yellow light.
-I’m
someone who is easy on the breaks so when I see a yellow or red light I start to
gradually slow down and I cannot tell you how many times people change lanes
just to get in front of me. I just don’t see the point in getting to the red
light first.
20.
When people don’t arrive on time even after you made plans to meet at a certain
time.
-They
knew they had to be somewhere and yet they didn’t leave enough time to get
there in time. It bugs me because sometimes I schedule things back to back
knowing that I should have enough time to get from point A to point B, but then
someone arrives late so suddenly I don’t have time to get to where I need to
go.
I had a little trouble coming up with more
than seven things to put on my bug list. However, after I asked my roommates if
they knew anything that bugged me, I quickly learned that I complain about more
things than I originally thought. Some of the things on my list are things that
truly bug me to a point that I would want to change them but some only bug me
for a few seconds when they initially happen.
